Tutoring Strategy
Posted March 28th, 2008 by kpinkpirateI was an AVID tutor last semester, and I learned a lot about how to tutor effectively. I was an AVID tutor for Algebra I. Telling the student the answer, or the next step to the problem will not help them take a test on their own. You have to ask them questions that will guide them down the right path in order for them to come up with the step themselves. Eventually, students will learn how to ask these questions on their own and they will have a huge advantage.

Can we talk about sex?

I want to talk about sex, as in "single sex education", which is now becoming more and more prevalent around the country.
