Transformative Leadership Project
Recently, our class has started our projects on either a Professional Leadership Project or a Transformative Leadership Project. My 2 partners and I decided to do Transformative Leadership, and our goal is to add two more classes to the Education Curriculum that focuses on multiculturalism and teaches students about other cultures. The reason we chose to do this is because slowly our community is becoming more and more diverse within culture, and if we plan on being effective teachers, we must have background knowledge of other cultures. We plan on talking to Debbie Oneal, Vivian Covington, and Roxene Barrett in order to get our ideas across, and hopefully be able to start the process of implementing our idea.

Diversity in Schools
I agree with Lindsay, I think that our culture is becoming more and more diverse. I think that is important that we educate our students about their own culture and others. It is important that thier is a multiculturalism class here at ECU. Especially in the teaching filed. Teachers will be teaching in all different locations around the world with different types of students. Not only will a diversity course help will students prepare to be better teacher, but it also will help students associates with different people on campus. But I think this idea is really good. Good job Lindsay!!
I agree
I think that this idea for your project is a great one. I to think that there are not any classes that allow us to learn about diversity and how we can incorperate it in to the classroom.

Great Idea!
This has to be one of the things that the Education curriculum doesn't cover, and i completely agree that it should be part of our curriculum. We do a lot of interacting with other cultures, yet we don't see it in the Education classrooms. I think this is a wonderful idea for a project. ~*Ashley*~
Multiculturalism
I think that is a great idea to add two classes to the Education Curriculum that focuses on multiculturalism and teaches students about other cultures. My question is what should those two classes be? There are so many cultures to learn about; how will you narrow it down to two? What is your opinion on learning a second language in addition to learning about a different culture? I guess maybe you would invent a multicuturalism course about the largest cultures in our society.
