Why are teachers treated so badly by society in general?  Teaching in schools is one of the lowest paying jobs that require college degree.  Yet, for anyone who has received a college degree and many who haven't a teacher has probably made one of the greatest impacts in their lives.  The government has enacted legislation that makes teaching more difficult.  By this I mean that it seems as though high stakes testing is more prominent than in the past.  (It certainly seems as though there are more EOCs now than there was when I was in high-school to say the least.)  In one of our books we read in Dr.

Hey everyone.  I hope everyone is doing good.  My name is Eric Kaufman and I am a junior at ECU in Dr. Gabbard's class.  I am pretty excited to be on this teachers network.  I really am excited about being a teacher in just under two short years.  I plan on becoming a high school social studies teacher, not just history but I want to teach anything in social studies.  Anything that anyone who reads this can advise or suggest when becoming a teacher would be highly appreciated.
