Trying to be optimistic!
Posted November 27th, 2007 by Caroline SuddrethSomething that really perturbs me is a teacher that puts down the teaching profession. I recently spoke to a teacher who graduated a few years ago from ECU and is now a teacher in a Greene County school. I asked how she liked teaching and what were a few things that she found challenging in her job. Immediately she responded, "I don't know if you should ask me about how I like my job. I might change your mind about becoming a teacher." I find this to be extremely discouraging. If people are so unhappy teaching, why do they do it? Don't they realize that they are not benefitting their students or the profession as a whole?

Posted November 27th, 2007 by Caroline SuddrethGreetings! My name is Caroline Suddreth and I am in Dr. Gabbard's 3200 class. I am a transfer student from Lenoir Community College so this is my first year at ECU. Also, this is the first semester I have ever had to to do a practicum. For my practicum experience I chose to go back to my home town, Kinston,NC, and visit the elementary school I attended. Isn't it amazing how things change?
