Know Your Stuff
Posted December 3rd, 2007 by arw1124When I was in the 11Th grade I had a Language Arts teacher who gave us a power point project about a foreign language we would like to adapt. The project wasn’t hard other than it being a power point presentation. Power Point had just been introduced to us so we weren’t quite sure how to use all the tools. When anyone would ask the teacher how to do certain things she just shrugged her shoulders and said “You figure it out!” This really irritated me and the rest of my fellow students.

Posted December 3rd, 2007 by arw1124I'm in one of my first education classes at ECU and we are supposed to write about something that bothers us about the new teaching standards. I'm not really sure if this is what number 2 of the standards is implying but I heard that they were trying to put special needs students into a regular classroom setting in order to get them socially prepared for life outside the classroom. This, to me, does not seem like a good idea because this will slow down the rest of the class. However, I do believe that they should get some interaction with students that don’t require special attention.
